  1. United Nations’ World Breastfeeding Week is annually observed across the globe from 1 August to 7 August to emphasize regular breastfeeding for babies and to raise awareness about its benefits. The theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2023 is “Let’s make breastfeeding and work, work!” 
  2. Akshata Murty, the daughter of Narayana Murthy and wife of Rishi Sunak, has achieved the first position in Tatler magazine’s compilation of Britain’s Best Dressed for the Year 2023.
  3. England pacer Stuart Broad on 29 July 2023, announced his retirement from cricket after the Ashes series.
  4. Shivendra Nath, a 1994-batch officer of UPSC, has been chosen by the PSEB (Public Enterprises Selection Board) panel to assume the role of Chairman and Managing Director at Engineering Projects India Ltd (EPIL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.

  16. On 3 August 2023, Noted Marathi poet and lyricist Namdeo Dhondo Mahanor, popularly known as Na Dho Mahanor, passed away at the age of 81 in Pune, Maharashtra.
